Event description

The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

Support the mission

Every year, 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide, and 1 million will die before their first birthday. Your gift helps the March of Dimes fund research, education, advocacy and programs that help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.

Keynote

Courtnay Caufield, DNP, RN, CENP, NR-BC, RN-BC, joined Kaiser Permanente Northwest (KPNW) as the Chief Nursing Officer at Sunnyside Medical Center in December 2019. In this role she is responsible for nursing practice, vision, and strategy across the nursing services to enhance and lead innovation with transitions of care for patients entrusting their care with the team at Sunnyside Medical Center.

Dr. Caufield’s clinical nursing background varies from neonatal care to geriatrics, neurology, joint programs, medical surgical, and travel nursing roles from critical access to Magnet facilities. Prior to KPNW, she served on the Executive Leadership team of the Nursing Director Women’s and Children’s Services Magnet program, nursing research, and the Children’s Health Institute at Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles, CA.

She has served on local and national boards and is faculty with the American Hospital Association and American Organization for Nursing Leadership. Key accomplishments include leading innovation using technology to improve caregiver practice and patient care, initiating family centered care councils, executing a successful stroke designation survey, strategic development of the Children’s Health Institute, and leading initiatives in leadership growth and development program strategies.

Dr. Caufield obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Western Governors University and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in Executive Leadership from the University of San Francisco. She is an Advisory Board fellow and possesses specialty certification in nursing leadership, nursing informatics, executive practice, and pediatrics.

Dr. Caufield is honored to be a nurse and transformational leader, committed to quality, safety, and clinician mindfulness, and a proud dyad partner to the medical staff with whom she works.
